No:049/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the delegation of the Federal Senate of Brazil

On 8 February 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the delegation led by Senator Nelsinho Trad, Head of the Brazil-Azerbaijan Friendship Group in the Federal Senate of Brazil, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan to observe the extraordinary Presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, prospects for expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Brazil, increasing political contacts and plans under the mechanism of bilateral consultations were discussed. The importance of preparations for the next meeting of the Joint Working Group on Trade and Investment Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil was emphasized .
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that the extraordinary Presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which for the first time in our history of independence coincide with the period of full restoration of our territorial integrity and sovereignty, are of special importance for Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, it was also emphasized that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), hosted by Azerbaijan this year, is important in terms of the development of bilateral relations, as well as the expansion of coordination with Brazil as the country hosting COP30.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
