On 24 February 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, participated in and addressed an iftar event organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for ambassadors of Muslim countries accredited to Azerbaijan.

 

In his remarks, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov conveyed his congratulations on the occasion of the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, wishing peace and prosperity to our country and the wider world.

 

It was emphasized that this sacred month, which unites the Islamic world, promotes high moral values.

 

The special place and role of Islam and the month of Ramadan in the national and moral values of Azerbaijani society, including the long-standing tradition of peaceful coexistence among representatives of different communities was highlighted.

 

It was recalled that Azerbaijan, as a country located at the crossroads of civilizations and cultures, promotes multiculturalism and interreligious harmony at the international level as key pillars of its state policy.

 

At the same time, concern was expressed over discrimination against Islam, rising trends of Islamophobia in certain countries, and instability caused by conflicts in parts of the Muslim world. The importance of unity and solidarity within the Islamic world in addressing such challenges was underlined.

 

The address also touched upon the situation in the Middle East, particularly the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, stressing the necessity of resolving the conflict through peaceful means.

 

Subsequently, the Dean of the diplomatic corps accredited to Azerbaijan, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Azerbaijan, Adil Embarch, delivered remarks and extended his congratulations on the occasion of Ramadan.

 

In conclusion, an iftar prayer was recited by Jeyhun Rustamov, Deputy Chairman of the Caucasus Muslim Board, after which an iftar dinner was hosted for the participants.
