On 3-5 February, the government mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan, led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elnur Mammadov, paid a visit to Mongolia.
During the visit, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Ms. Batmunkh Battsetseg, Minister of Road and Transport Delgersaikhan Borkhuu, Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Mongolia Odbayar Erdenetsogt, and President of the National Chamber of Commerce Lkhagvajav Tur-Od Nomunkhaan.
During the meetings, the Mongolian side highly appreciated the government mission of Azerbaijan, and issues of interest to both sides, including high-level exchanges, investment, logistics opportunities, and green energy, humanitarian and other matters were discussed.
Within the framework of the visit, the second round of political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia was held. The political consultations were led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elnur Mammadov from the Azerbaijani side and by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Munkhtushig Lkhanaajav from the Mongolian side. During the political consultations, the expansion of bilateral and multilateral political relations, exchange of high-level visits, as well as the current state and prospects of cooperation in the fields of international organizations, legal and contractual framework, economy and trade, energy, mining, transport, tourism, humanitarian and other areas were discussed.
Meetings were organized for the members of the government mission, including representatives of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Defense Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and AzerGold, with senior officials of relevant state institutions of Mongolia. Detailed presentations on investment opportunities in several sectors were delivered to the Azerbaijani representatives, and substantive discussions were held on prospects for cooperation covering various fields.
During the visit, a number of tours to industrial zones were organized for the members of the mission.
