On 19 January 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation of the United Republic of Tanzania, January Makamba.
During the meeting, prospects for bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Tanzania in the fields of tourism, education, humanitarian, economic, energy and other areas, as well as issues of cooperation on multilateral platforms, were discussed.
Referring to the cooperation agenda carried out between the countries on multilateral platforms, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed satisfaction with the level of mutual support demonstrated by Azerbaijan and Tanzania for candidacies and projects put forward within multilateral platforms such as the Non-Aligned Movement and the United Nations. In this context, the important role of working contacts held between the countries was emphasized.
During the meeting, the importance of intensifying political consultations between the two countries and expanding the bilateral legal framework was emphasized.
During the meeting, other issues on the cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Tanzania were discussed.
