No:009/24, Press release on the telephone conversation between Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Radosław Sikorski

On 15 January 2024, a telephone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Radosław Sikorski.
During the telephone conversation, issues on the bilateral and regional agenda were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated his counterpart on his appointment as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, referring to cooperation between Azerbaijan and Poland, including within the framework of multilateral platforms, emphasized the importance of high-level friendship, respect and strategic partnership between the two countries.
It was noted that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Poland in the political, economic, energy, alternative energy, humanitarian and other fields have broad prospects, and the importance of the political consultations mechanism, as well as parliamentary diplomacy, in the development of relations was emphasized. The importance of advancing cooperation within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Poland was emphasized.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also provided the other side with detailed information on the regional situation in the post-conflict period. It was noted that after the restoration of Azerbaijan’s sovereignty over its territories, broad opportunities for peace have emerged.
It was emphasized that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), to be held in Azerbaijan this year, is important for further development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
Subsequently, views were exchanged on other regional issues of mutual interest.
