No:005/24, Press release on the preparation process for the extraordinary Presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan scheduled for 7 February 2024

In order to ensure the electoral rights of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who reside outside the country or are on long-term foreign assignments in the extraordinary Presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan scheduled for 7 February 2024, relevant measures are being taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Voter lists consisting of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who have reached the age of 18 and reside outside the country or are on long-term foreign assignments have been prepared by the diplomatic missions and consulates of the Republic of Azerbaijan and submitted to the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
It should be noted that, in accordance with the Electoral Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, voting will be conducted at diplomatic missions and consulates where the number of voters registered with the consulate exceeds 50.
Based on the information submitted to the Central Election Commission, a total of 49 polling stations have been established in 37 countries in order to organize the elections outside the country.
In accordance with the local time zones of the countries, the extraordinary Presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan to be held from 08:00 to 19:00 at the diplomatic missions where polling stations of the Republic of Azerbaijan have been established will begin at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Korea and will conclude at the Consulate General in Los Angeles, the United States of America.
