No:514/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States

On 27 December 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov received Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), who is on a visit to our country.
During the meeting, the Secretary General once again conveyed his condolences regarding the crash of the aircraft belonging to “Azerbaijan Airlines” and wished patience to the families of those who lost their lives. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the letters of condolence and statements by the OTS and the Secretary General from the first moment of the tragedy.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that strengthening friendship, brotherhood and cooperation within the framework of our organization is a main priority, that Azerbaijan has always supported the steps, initiatives and ideas put forward within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States in the direction of realizing this potential, and that further strengthening and expanding the Secretariat of the Organization and its observer status in international organizations is important.
The sides noted the importance of the informal summit held in Shusha this year, the Garabagh Declaration adopted during the summit, as well as the decisions adopted during the summit held in Bishkek for multifaceted cooperation within the framework of the Organization. It was stressed that the adoption this year of the common Turkic Alphabet, the new flag and logo of the Organization, the decision on the establishment of the Civil Protection Mechanism within the framework of the Organization, and agreements in a number of other directions further strengthened the Organization.
At the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other issues of mutual interest.
