No:508/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov with Ana Brnabić, Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia

On 23 December 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Ana Brnabić, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, within the framework of his working visit to the Republic of Serbia.
During the meeting, development prospects of the existing strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Serbia and relations between the two countries at the interparliamentary level were discussed.
At the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the current level of strategic partnership relations based on mutual respect, trust and international law.
Taking into account the importance of parliamentary diplomacy, it was noted that strengthening cooperation on a bilateral basis, including within the framework of international parliamentary platforms, is important. In this regard, at the same time, the work of friendship groups operating in the parliaments of our countries was appreciated.
Gratitude was expressed to the Azerbaijani side for its unequivocal support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, and it was stressed that Serbia is satisfied with the development of cooperation with our country on the basis of mutual respect. Gratitude was expressed for mutual support in international organizations, the United Nations and the Council of Europe.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, informing the other side about the outcomes of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), held in our country this year, spoke about the importance of the successes achieved in agreeing on the new climate finance goal and in other directions in the global climate agenda.
Success was wished to Serbia in the preparatory works for Expo 2027, and it was emphasized that this event is an indicator of Serbia’s growing importance.
During the meeting, a broad exchange of views was conducted on other issues of mutual interest.
