No:493/24, Press release on the telephone conversation between Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye

On 11 December 2024, a telephone conversation was held between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye.

 

During the phone call, issues arising from the Azerbaijan–Türkiye alliance, the situation in the region in the post-conflict period, the current situation in the Middle East, especially in Syria, as well as other regional and international security issues were discussed.

 

The sides exchanged views on the negotiations and discussions conducted within the framework of the 31st meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council held in Malta.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated the Turkish side on the appointment of Feridun Sinirlioğlu, an experienced Turkish diplomat, to the high position of Secretary General of the Organization within the framework of the 31st meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council, and stressed that this great achievement was welcomed by our side with great joy.

Success was wished to OSCE Secretary General F. Sinirlioğlu in his responsible activity.

 

Within the framework of the telephone conversation, the sides also discussed regional issues and the latest situation in Syria in detail.

 

Azerbaijan’s support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Syria, as well as hope that the crisis situation that has emerged will soon find its solution based on the interests and will of the Syrian people, was expressed.

 

During the phone call, an exchange of views was also conducted on other bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
