No:483/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with Tanja Fajon, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia

On 5 December 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Tanja Fajon, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, within the framework of his participation in the 31st meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council.

 

During the meeting, prospects for bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Slovenia, as well as issues standing on the regional and international agenda were discussed.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan attaches importance to the development of bilateral and multilateral relations with Slovenia based on friendship, mutual respect and beneficial cooperation. It was emphasized that mutual visits and continuous political dialogue are of important significance for the further development of our relations.

 

It was stressed that there are important opportunities in the direction of developing cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, energy, especially “green energy”.

 

The other side was also informed in detail about our country’s hosting and Presidency of the 29th session of the

Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), and the outcomes of the session, and it was noted that Azerbaijan will continue to contribute to international efforts in the direction of combating climate change hereafter, and that we are ready for cooperation in this direction.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also informed about the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, the large-scale restoration and construction works carried out in the liberated territories, as well as the latest situation on the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization agenda.

 

At the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on topics of mutual interest between the two countries.
