No:462/25, Press release on the visit of Deputy Minister Fariz Rzayev to the State of Qatar

From 6 to 8 December 2025, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Fariz Rzayev, paid a visit to the State of Qatar.
F. Rzayev participated in the 23rd Doha Forum held with the support of the State of Qatar.
Within the framework of the Forum, F. Rzayev delivered remarks at a panel session dedicated to climate diplomacy. In his speech, F. Rzayev spoke about Azerbaijan’s policy on the transition to green energy and the use of alternative energy sources, as well as the activities and achievements carried out by Azerbaijan’s COP29 Presidency. In this context, he also highlighted Azerbaijan’s contributions to COP30 held in Brazil in November this year and the ongoing work within the COP “troika” in the framework of international climate diplomacy.
During the visit, F. Rzayev also held meetings with the leadership and academic staff of Lusail University of Qatar, as well as with the leadership of the International Political Studies Center.
During the meetings, F. Rzayev spoke about Azerbaijan’s active foreign policy course pursued after restoring its independence, its bilateral relations and initiatives within international organizations, as well as the restoration of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the efforts towards normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Qatar both on bilateral and multilateral levels.
