No:446/25, Press release on the visit of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Fariz Rzayev to the Kingdom of Morocco

On 26–29 November 2025, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Fariz Rzayev, paid a visit to the Kingdom of Morocco.

 

On 26 November, the Deputy Minister delivered a lecture on “Azerbaijan’s foreign and security policy” to the academic staff and students of Hassan II University, one of the country’s leading higher education institutions, located in Casablanca.

 

In his lecture, F. Rzayev provided information on Azerbaijan’s active foreign policy course following the restoration of its independence, its bilateral relations, and its initiatives within the framework of international organizations. It was noted that next year Azerbaijan will host such prestigious events as the World Urban Forum and the Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. In addition, questions regarding bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Morocco, cooperation within international organizations, and recent developments in the region were addressed.

 

As part of the visit, the Deputy Minister also participated in the 17th International MEDays Forum held in the city of Tangier under the patronage of the King of Morocco.

 

Nearly 7,000 representatives from 120 countries attended the Forum. Speaking at the panel session dedicated to the global energy agenda, F. Rzayev provided information on Azerbaijan’s energy policy, noting that Azerbaijan, as a reliable partner, makes an important contribution to regional and global energy security. The speech also highlighted achievements in the field of alternative energy sources.

 

On 29 November, during a panel session dedicated to conflicts, the Deputy Minister addressed the importance of resolving conflicts and respecting the norms and principles of international law in interstate relations. He also informed about the restoration of Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the initialing of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia in August this year, emphasizing that new opportunities have emerged for sustainable peace and cooperation in the region.
