No:426/25, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to the Republic of Azerbaijan Christos Kapodistrias

On 7 November 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to the Republic of Azerbaijan Christos Kapodistrias on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission in our country.
During the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highly appreciated Ambassador Kapodistrias’ contribution to the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Greece, expressed his gratitude and wished him success in his future endeavors.
During the conversation with the Ambassador, the recent dynamics in bilateral relations were positively assessed. In this context, the importance of the COP29 International Climate Conference held in Baku in November 2024, as well as the meeting between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic Kyriakos Mitsotakis held in New York in September 2025 within the framework of the UN General Assembly, was emphasized.
It was noted that the continuation of political dialogue between our countries is important for the development of bilateral relations. It was brought to attention that there is great potential for further deepening cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investments, energy, transport-transit, tourism, education and culture.
Ambassador Christos Kapodistrias, for his part, stated that he would recall his tenure as Ambassador of Greece to Azerbaijan with positive impressions and expressed his gratitude for the support provided to him during his mission.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on other issues of mutual interest.
