No:422/25, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune

On 4 November 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, within the framework of his official visit to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, was received by the President of this country Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
During the meeting, a broad exchange of views was held on the current state and prospects for the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Algeria based on friendship and mutual respect.
The President of Algeria recalled with satisfaction the visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to this country in November 2022 to participate in the 31st Summit of the League of Arab States, emphasizing that this visit made an important contribution to further strengthening relations between our countries.
During the meeting, interest was expressed in deepening political dialogue between the two countries and expanding cooperation in economic, educational and humanitarian, energy, transport, agriculture, tourism, scientific and technical fields.
In this context, the signing of the Agreement on the establishment of the Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria was assessed as an important step in the development of relations.
The sides also emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation within international and regional organizations, including the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Non-Aligned Movement. The initiatives put forward during our country’s chairmanship and hosting of a number of international platforms were appreciated for serving to strengthen its position in the system of international relations.
During the meeting, the other side was informed about the history of aggression against Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan’s vision for establishing sustainable peace and stability in the South Caucasus region in the post-conflict period, as well as reconstruction and construction works.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on a number of other regional and international issues.
