No:408/25, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi

On 29 October 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, within the framework of his official visit to the Sultanate of Oman, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of this country Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi.
The bilateral meeting was later continued in a multilateral format.
During the meeting, current issues on the Azerbaijan-Oman bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda and prospects for cooperation, as well as the regional situation were discussed.
The current level of development of the traditional friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Oman was highly appreciated, and the importance of intensifying mutual visits, ensuring the regularity of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, and strengthening the bilateral legal-contractual framework was emphasized.
It was noted with satisfaction that cooperation based on mutual trust and support within multilateral platforms such as the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is developing.
Touching upon economic cooperation issues, possibilities for increasing the volume of bilateral trade turnover, stimulating mutual investments, and implementing joint projects in the fields of energy, transport-communications, agriculture, water resource management, alternative energy, tourism, healthcare and other areas were discussed.
Confidence was expressed that the establishment of the Azerbaijan-Oman Direct Investment Fund will make a significant contribution to the implementation of joint projects between our countries.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on the situation in the Middle East, the steps taken by our country in the post-conflict period to ensure peace and stability, as well as other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Afterwards, the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Sultanate of Oman on mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, special and service passports” and the “Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman on cooperation in the consular field” were signed by the ministers.
On the same day, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs participated in the official opening ceremony of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the capital of the Sultanate of Oman, Muscat, and familiarized themselves with the building of the Embassy.
