No:359/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with Andrii Sybiha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine

On 24 September 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha within the framework of the high-level week of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

 

During the meeting, issues of cooperation between the two countries in the existing political, economic, energy, humanitarian and other directions, as well as regional issues, were discussed.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated Andrii Sybiha on his appointment to the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs.

 

At the meeting, the importance of the continued position demonstrated regarding support for territorial integrity and sovereignty of both countries within their internationally recognized borders was noted.

 

Azerbaijan’s humanitarian assistance activities to Ukraine, including support provided to restoration and reconstruction works, were highly appreciated.

 

The sides assessed the existing political dialogue between the two countries as one of the main factors contributing to the development of bilateral political-diplomatic relations.

 

At the meeting, new cooperation opportunities within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) were also discussed.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed about the restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the liberated territories in the post-conflict period, and the current state of the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

 

Along with this, at the meeting, an exchange of views was conducted on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
