No:358/25, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Djibouti Mohamed Ali Hassan

On 8 September 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Djibouti Mohamed Ali Hassan.
During the meeting, prospects for bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Djibouti, as well as partnership issues in multilateral formats were discussed.
It was emphasized that there are broad prospects for cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, humanitarian, education and other areas.
The importance of continuing mutual support and solidarity within regional and international organizations, including the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement was noted. It was stated that the Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to be held in our country in 2026 and our chairmanship over the next two years create additional opportunities for cooperation.
During the meeting, the importance of the meeting held in Washington last month and the agreements reached was noted, and it was brought to attention that our country, as the initiator of the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process, will continue its efforts to advance the peace agenda.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on other issues of mutual interest.
On the same day, political consultations were also held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Djibouti. The political consultations were led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yalchin Rafiyev from the Azerbaijani side, and by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Ali Hassan from the Djiboutian side.
