On 11 August 2025, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas.
The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy conveyed her congratulations on the Joint Declaration signed by the leaders of Azerbaijan, the United States, and Armenia following the Washington meeting of the Azerbaijan–Armenia leaders, as well as on the initialing of the peace agreement, the joint call for the abolition of the OSCE Minsk Process and its relevant structures, and other agreements reached.
It was emphasized that these agreements are of great importance for ensuring peace and stability in the region. Kaja Kallas stated that the EU is ready to continue supporting the advancement of the peace process.
During the telephone conversation, the sides also exchanged views on issues and prospects arising from Azerbaijan–EU relations, as well as on regional and international security matters.
