No:283/25, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Elena Shekerletova

On 30 June 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Elena Shekerletova.

 

During the meeting, various aspects of the Azerbaijan–Bulgaria strategic partnership, including economic, trade, energy security, green energy, humanitarian, and cultural cooperation, as well as future plans and regional and international security issues, were discussed.

 

The importance of high-level visits and political dialogue in the development of the existing strategic partnership between the two countries was emphasized. The role of the Azerbaijan–Bulgaria Intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation was noted.

 

It was highlighted that joint initiatives implemented in the energy sector play an important role in ensuring Europe’s energy security, and that there are broad prospects for further expanding cooperation in this area, particularly for the implementation of new projects in the field of green energy.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also informed the other side about the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, large-scale reconstruction and restoration works carried out in the liberated territories, efforts to combat the mine threat, as well as the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization process.

 

During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.

 

On the same day, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Bulgaria. The consultations were led by Deputy Minister Fariz Rzayev from the Azerbaijani side and Deputy Minister Elena Shekerletova from the Bulgarian side.
