On 26 June 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic, Edmondo Cirielli, who is on a visit to our country.
During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy within the bilateral framework, and the prospects of the multidimensional strategic partnership relations between the two countries in political, defense, security, economic, trade, energy, humanitarian, education, and other fields were discussed.
The delivery to our country of the “C-27J Spartan” military transport aircraft produced by Italy’s Leonardo company was welcomed, and it was noted that cooperation in the field of defense will contribute to the further development of relations between the two countries.
The sides also exchanged views on the situation in the region in the post-conflict period and the process of normalization of Azerbaijan-Armenia relations.
During the meeting, other international and regional issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
