No:269/24, Press release on consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation

On 25 June 2024, the 11th consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation were held in the city of Baku.
During the consultations, the Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Russian delegation was headed by Alexey Klimov, Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
Officials of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Migration Service also participated in the meeting.
During the consular consultations, views were exchanged on the current state and prospects of cooperation in the consular field between the two countries, including the signing of bilateral documents in this area and opportunities for the digitalization of consular services.
The sides discussed the protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens of the two countries and the provision of consular assistance to them, and emphasized the importance of joint measures to strengthen cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation in justice, migration, education, and other important fields.
At the end of the negotiations, the protocol of the meeting was signed by the heads of the delegations of the two countries.
