No:267/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Azerbaijan Maksat Mamytkanov

On 24 June 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Maksat Mamytkanov.
During the meeting, the Ambassador presented a copy of his credentials to Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. The Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his tenure.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on various aspects of the bilateral cooperation agenda, including strengthening cooperation and implementing joint projects in political, economic, transport, humanitarian, and cultural fields.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov spoke about the friendly relations between our countries based on centuries-old ethnic, cultural, and religious ties, and emphasized the prospects for the development of these relations. It was noted that there is currently mutual understanding between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan at all levels. It was emphasized that the increasing contacts and mutual visits between the leaders of our countries in recent times have been marked by the elevation of relations between our countries to the level of strategic partnership.
Satisfaction was expressed with the development of cooperation between our countries within multilateral platforms, especially within the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), SPECA, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and other regional organizations. In particular, it was emphasized that there are broad prospects for cooperation within the OTS, as well as the importance of intensive contacts among the OTS member states in utilizing the existing potential. In this regard, confidence was expressed that the extraordinary summit of the OTS to be hosted in the city of Shusha in July of the current year and the official summit to be convened in Bishkek in October will serve as important engagements contributing to the development of the Organization.
During the meeting, it was noted that there are broad opportunities for cooperation within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
It was emphasized that Kyrgyzstan’s support for the peace and reconstruction process is commendable, and that the secondary school laid in the village of Khidirli in Aghdam at the initiative of the Kyrgyz Republic is a clear example of this support.
Ambassador Maksat Mamytkanov stated that he would spare no effort to further strengthen relations between our countries.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on other issues of mutual interest.
