On 22 June 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Touhid Hossain, within the framework of the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
During the meeting, views were exchanged on the existing bilateral and multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Bangladesh, as well as on prospects for future cooperation.
The sides emphasized the importance of high-level contacts, mutual visits, inter-agency cooperation, and the political consultations mechanism in the development of relations.
The sides discussed the expansion of cooperation in the fields of trade, education, and digital governance, as well as the possibilities of visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and service passports. Both sides noted the importance of strengthening contacts between relevant state institutions.
The sides stated that efforts will be continued to further deepen relations between Azerbaijan and Bangladesh and to explore new areas of cooperation.
The importance of continuing mutual support within the framework of international organizations was emphasized.
During the meeting, issues on the regional and international agenda were also discussed.
