No:259/24, Press release on political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh

On 14 June 2024, the first meeting of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Bangladesh was held in the city of Baku.

 

During the consultations, the Azerbaijani side was represented by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Elnur Mammadov, while the Bangladeshi side was represented by the Foreign Secretary (Deputy Minister), Masud Bin Momen.

 

During the meeting, discussions were conducted on the current state of relations between the two countries, the expansion of cooperation in political, economic, humanitarian and other fields, as well as prospects for future development.

 

Deputy Minister E. Mammadov provided the other side with detailed information on the current situation in the region in the post-conflict phase, the process of mine clearance in the territories liberated from occupation, as well as restoration and reconstruction works.

 

It was emphasized that within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), hosted by our country this year, favorable opportunities have been created for new areas of cooperation.

 

During the meeting, an exchange of views was also carried out on cooperation between the two countries within international organizations, strengthening inter-parliamentary relations, the promotion of tourism between Azerbaijan and Bangladesh, as well as regional issues.
