On 30 May 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asim Munir, within the framework of his official visit to Pakistan.
During the meeting, prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense and military, as well as issues of cooperation between the specialized institutions of the two countries in the field of defense industry were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized the importance of mutual visits and close contacts for cooperation in the military-technical field between Azerbaijan and brotherly Pakistan.
The importance of bilateral, as well as trilateral military exercises in the Azerbaijan–Türkiye–Pakistan format, for increasing the effectiveness of interaction between the Armed Forces of the two countries, as well as for the exchange of experience between the relevant branches of troops, was noted.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also informed his interlocutor about the peace agenda and normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the latest agreements reached in the process of the return of 4 villages of Azerbaijan and the delimitation of a certain section of the border.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
