No: 230/25, Press release on the repatriation of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan from Syria

As a result of phased and coordinated measures taken by the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on 3 June 2025, 13 citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who had gone to the Syrian Arab Republic were repatriated to our country.
First of all, the location, identity and citizenship of the repatriates belonging to the Republic of Azerbaijan were determined.
Representatives of the relevant state authorities responsible for the repatriation of Azerbaijani citizens from Iraq and Syria were dispatched to the Republic of Türkiye, and initial medical and psychological examinations of the repatriates were carried out.
Through coordination work conducted by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Türkiye, our citizens were provided with certificates of return to the Republic of Azerbaijan and airline tickets.
It is envisaged to implement relevant measures for the social rehabilitation and reintegration of the repatriates into society.
The Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan will continue to take the necessary measures for the repatriation of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who have become victims of armed conflicts in the territories of foreign countries.
