No:227/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov with the Ambassador of Ukraine to Azerbaijan, Yuriy Husyev

On 21 May 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the newly appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to our country, Yuriy Husyev.

 

During the meeting, the existing cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, as well as regional security issues, were discussed.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated the Ambassador of Ukraine to Azerbaijan, Yuriy Husyev, on his appointment and wished him success in his activities.

 

The sides noted with satisfaction the development of strategic partnership relations between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade, energy security, transport and communications, humanitarian sphere and others.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, providing information on the preparatory works for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), chaired by our country, noted that COP29, in turn, can contribute to the development of relations by including the issue of combating climate change in the cooperation agenda.

 

Ambassador Yuriy Husyev expressed gratitude for the sincere reception and brought to attention that he will spare no efforts to further develop relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine. Gratitude was expressed for the continuous support demonstrated by Azerbaijan for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, including the humanitarian assistance provided in connection with the situation around Ukraine.

 

During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
