On 3 June 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, within the framework of his visit to Kenya, was received by the President of the Republic of Kenya William Samoei Ruto.
During the meeting, the sides emphasized that high-level mutual visits, political dialogue, and inter-agency contacts contribute to the development of cooperation.
The sides also drew attention to the importance of strengthening cooperation within international organizations and expressed confidence that the partnership will be strengthened in all areas.
In addition, opportunities for cooperation in the fields of economy, energy, agriculture, education, culture, tourism and governance were discussed.
The sides noted that there are broad opportunities for cooperation in the fields of information and communication technologies, digital economy, energy and natural resources, and that organizing joint business forums and trade missions would be useful for identifying concrete areas of cooperation.
The importance of African countries in Azerbaijan’s foreign policy was highlighted, and it was noted that Azerbaijan is interested in developing cooperation not only with Kenya but also with other countries of the continent.
The importance of our country’s successful COP29 event and the decisions adopted, as well as cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the World Urban Forum to be held in 2026, were reviewed.
During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on other current issues on the agenda and topics of mutual interest.
