No:187/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani

On 30 April 2024, within the framework of his working visit to the State of Qatar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.
During the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction with the level of existing cooperation between the two countries and emphasized that high-level visits, sustained political dialogue, and intensified inter-agency contacts are important for identifying new areas of partnership and elevating cooperation to a qualitatively new level.
The sides also expressed satisfaction with the high-level political dialogue between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State of Qatar and stressed the importance of holding political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of both countries, as well as meetings of the Intergovernmental Economic Commission, on a regular basis.
It was noted that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), hosted by Azerbaijan this year, creates favorable opportunities for new areas of cooperation.
The sides also highlighted the importance of cooperation within international organizations and expressed confidence that partnership relations would be further strengthened across all areas.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues on the agenda and matters of mutual interest.
