No:179/25, Press release on the visit of the delegation led by Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov to Nepal

On 30 April – 2 May 2025, the government mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elnur Mammadov paid a visit to Nepal.
During the visit, Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov was received by the President of Nepal Ramchandra Paudel, as well as the Prime Minister Sharma Oli.
Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov also held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal Arzu Rana Deuba.
During the meetings, the Nepali side highly appreciated the government mission of Azerbaijan and an exchange of views was held on issues of mutual interest for both sides.
Within the framework of the visit, the first round of political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal was held. The consultations were led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elnur Mammadov from the Azerbaijani side and Foreign Secretary of Nepal Amrit Bahadur Rai from the other side.
During the political consultations, the development of bilateral and multilateral political relations, as well as the current state and prospects of cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, energy, tourism, agriculture, humanitarian and other areas were discussed.
Cooperation between the two countries within international organizations was positively assessed, and the importance of strengthening mutual support in multilateral formats was emphasized.
A roundtable meeting was held between the members of the government mission, including representatives of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Agriculture, the State Tourism Agency, and the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), and the relevant state institutions of Nepal, where cooperation opportunities were discussed. At the roundtable held at the Nepal Investment Board, representatives of Azerbaijani state institutions delivered detailed presentations.
Within the framework of the visit, Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov also delivered a lecture on the topic “Foreign Policy of Azerbaijan: Challenges and Opportunities” at an event organized by the Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs (AIDIA) in Nepal, attended by prominent public and political figures of the country, heads of think tanks, representatives of various state and non-governmental organizations, and experts, and answered questions from the audience.
