No:177/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi

On 20 April 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi, on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission in our country.
At the current stage, the sides expressed satisfaction with the development of friendly and cooperative relations between the two states, based on historical roots and mutual respect. It was emphasized that significant steps are currently being taken to advance relations in political, economic, trade, and other areas.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also noted that the development of relations between the two countries within regional and multilateral frameworks is important, and highlighted the effective functioning of regional formats such as the “3+3” platform.
Ambassador Seyyed Abbas Mousavi expressed his gratitude for the support extended to him during his diplomatic mission. He noted that all efforts had been mobilized to develop bilateral relations during his tenure and expressed confidence that his successor would continue to contribute to the further strengthening of these relations.
During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov wished Ambassador Seyyed Abbas Mousavi success in his future activities.
