No:171/26, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Secretary-General of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation Sohail Mahmood

On 18 April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Secretary-General of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8) Sohail Mahmood within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
During the meeting, the existing cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and the D-8 was discussed, and opportunities for further development of relations in the fields of political, economic, trade, energy, investment, transport and logistics were reviewed.
The active activities carried out by Azerbaijan within the organization during the short period since its accession to the D-8 were highly appreciated, and the organization of the D-8 Week in Azerbaijan for the first time in October 2025, as well as the practical steps taken within this framework regarding the establishment of the D-8 Energy and Climate Center, the D-8 Media Excellence Center and the D-8 Transport Excellence Center in our country were recalled with satisfaction.
Views were exchanged on regional and international security issues, and the importance of reducing tension in the Middle East, strengthening the ceasefire, and observing international humanitarian law was noted.
At the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
