No:165/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov

On 14 April 2024, within the framework of his working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov.
During the meeting, the ministers expressed satisfaction with the upward development of relations between the two countries, based on ethnic, historical, cultural, and religious ties between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, and emphasized the importance of elevating the comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level.
The meeting addressed issues arising from regular high-level contacts between the two countries, as well as the expansion of cooperation in political, socio-economic, energy, humanitarian, educational, tourism, transport, agricultural, and other fields.
The sides also underlined with satisfaction cooperation and mutual support not only at the bilateral level but also within international and regional platforms, and emphasized the importance of further diversifying cooperation based on brotherhood and solidarity within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States.
During the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that the contribution of brotherly Uzbekistan to the large-scale reconstruction and rebuilding works carried out in the region in the post-conflict period, particularly the construction of the secondary school named after Mirzo Ulugbek in the city of Fuzuli, is highly appreciated by the state and people of Azerbaijan.
The ministers also emphasized the importance of intensifying the work of the consultation mechanism between the foreign ministries of the two countries and further expanding the contractual and legal framework.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
