On 15 April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the Deputy State Secretary of the Swiss Confederation, Head of the Eurasia Division of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs Pierre-Yves Fux.
During the meeting, the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Switzerland were discussed.
The sides reviewed issues of political dialogue, economic-trade relations, cooperation in the fields of energy, transport and other areas of mutual interest, the work carried out within the framework of international organizations and platforms, as well as Switzerland’s plans regarding its Chairpersonship-in-Office of the OSCE.
At the same time, regional and international security issues, including the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period, the peace agenda advanced by Azerbaijan, the restoration and reconstruction works carried out, as well as demining activities were discussed.
The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
On the same day, the next round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Switzerland was held. The consultations were headed by Deputy Minister Fariz Rzayev from the Azerbaijani side and Deputy State Secretary Pierre-Yves Fux from the Swiss side.
