No:151/25, Press release on the meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Julius Pranevičius

On 14 April 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, Julius Pranevičius.
During the meeting, bilateral and multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Lithuania, as well as the regional and international situation were discussed.
It was noted that there is broad potential for the development of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade, energy security and humanitarian areas, and the importance of the mechanism of political consultations in discussing issues arising from this was highlighted. The importance of developing partnership within multilateral platforms was emphasized.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the other side in detail about the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, efforts to combat the mine threat, as well as the progress of the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization process. The challenges facing the advancement of the peace and normalization process, including the ongoing territorial claims against our country in the Constitution of Armenia and a number of legislative acts, Armenia’s rapid militarization, as well as the issue of the continued existence of the OSCE Minsk Group and relevant structures remaining from the former conflict, were brought to attention.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
On the same day, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Lithuania. The political consultations were led by Deputy Minister Fariz Rzayev from the Azerbaijani side and by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Julius Pranevičius from the Lithuanian side.
