On 4 April, the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation is marked.
On this occasion, an exchange of congratulatory letters took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov.
We present the text of the letter addressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
“Dear Sergey Viktorovich,
Please accept my sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation.
Over the past decades, the bilateral relations between our countries, based on common historical values, mutual respect and trust, as well as taking into account each other’s interests, have successfully developed and evolved from a strategic partnership into allied relations.
Certainly, regular political dialogue at the highest level, being an important factor in the progressive development of cooperation, has always contributed to Azerbaijan–Russia interaction.
The signing of the Declaration on Allied Interaction on 22 February 2022 ensured the transition of interstate relations to a qualitatively new level and created a solid foundation for long-term cooperation in various fields.
Today, allied interaction, characterized by intensive bilateral contacts, continues to be effectively strengthened. A clear example of this is the steady growth of trade turnover, the expansion of the legal framework, as well as the successful implementation of joint projects and initiatives. Issues of expanding cultural and humanitarian ties and interregional cooperation occupy a special place on the bilateral agenda.
Undoubtedly, close cooperation between foreign policy institutions contributes to strengthening allied interaction on a wide range of issues of mutual interest.
I am confident that Azerbaijan–Russia relations will continue to deepen comprehensively and be enriched with new content in line with the interests of our states and peoples.
