No:123/25, Press release on the return of the crew members of the vessels detained in Eritrea to our country

Eighteen citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who were part of the crew of the vessels “CMS Pahlavan”, “CMS Igid” and “CMS-3” operated by the branch of “Caspian Marine Services B.V.” in the Republic of Azerbaijan and detained by Eritrea since 7 November last year, were released and brought back to our country following long-term negotiations conducted by our side, as a result of joint coordination efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, as well as the Closed Joint-Stock Company “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company,” in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State.
During the period when the crew was in Eritrea, consular support was provided to them through the Embassy of our country in Ethiopia, and relevant measures were taken to ensure that their needs were met in an appropriate manner.
We express our deep gratitude to the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in the State of Eritrea for its close support in this process.
