No:108/25, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the former Special Representative of the Chinese Government on European Affairs, Wu Hongbo

On 13 March 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the former Special Representative of the Government of the People’s Republic of China for European Affairs, Wu Hongbo, within the framework of the 12th Global Baku Forum.

 

During the meeting, issues arising from the Azerbaijan–China strategic partnership, as well as the regional and international situation were discussed.

 

It was noted that the Global Baku Forum is an important platform for discussing issues that concern humanity, as well as matters related to a more inclusive world order, and gratitude was expressed to the Azerbaijani side for the high-level organization.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that the past year holds particular significance in the history of our developing bilateral and multilateral relations, especially in terms of the establishment of strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and China. The importance of maintaining this dynamic of our strategic partnership, as well as expanding cooperation, and the importance of using the mechanism of political consultations in this direction were emphasized.

 

It was noted that Azerbaijan and China consistently support each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, and gratitude was expressed for this.

 

The importance of continuing mutual support and solidarity within the framework of regional and international organizations was noted.

 

The participation and contributions of the Chinese side at the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change held in our country last year were particularly noted.

 

During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on other issues of mutual interest.
