No:106/26, Press release on the telephone conversation of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Oana-Silvia Țoiu

On 9 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Oana-Silvia Țoiu, made a phone call to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.
The sides discussed the current security situation in the region, particularly the risks arising against the background of increasing tensions in the Middle East. Within this framework, the other side was informed about the drone attack carried out from the territory of Iran against the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. It was noted that as a result of the attacks, civilian infrastructure was damaged and civilians were injured.
The Romanian Minister condemned this attack and conveyed her concern. She emphasized that such attacks pose a serious threat to stability and security in the region.
During the phone call, the sides also discussed issues on the agenda of the existing strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Romania, energy security, transport and connectivity projects, as well as other bilateral and multilateral areas of cooperation of mutual interest.
