On March 5, 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Jeenbek Kulubaev, held a phone call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

During the telephone conversation, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided detailed information about the drone attacks carried out by Iran. He stated that these attacks against the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan constitute a violation of the norms and principles of international law and contribute to increased tensions in the region. It was emphasized that Azerbaijan demands an apology from Iran, an explanation of the incident, and the adoption of measures to prevent the recurrence of such cases in the future.

 

The Kyrgyz Minister expressed concern over the drone attacks against the territory of Azerbaijan and stated that Kyrgyzstan stands in solidarity with our country. It was highlighted that such attacks contribute to further escalation of tensions in the region.

 

The need to prevent further escalation of the situation in the Middle East, increase diplomatic efforts, and respect the norms and principles of international law within this framework was also underlined.

 

Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for providing transit arrangements for Kyrgyz citizens in Iran through Azerbaijani territory and noted that the operational support was highly appreciated.

 

During the telephone conversation, the parties also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
