On 1 March 2026, a telephone conversation held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, Fuad Hussein.
During the conversation, the ministers exchanged views on the ongoing military escalation and the tense security situation in the Middle East.
The necessity for all parties to exercise restraint, refrain from actions that could further escalate tensions, and prioritize resolving existing disputes through diplomatic channels was emphasized.
The ministers also highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts by the international community and stressed that the protection of civilians and infrastructure remains a top priority.
Other matters of mutual interest were also discussed during the telephone conversation.
