On 1 March 2026, a telephone conversation held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov.
During the conversation, the tense security situation in the region and the ongoing military escalation were discussed.
Deep concern was expressed regarding the situation, which seriously affects peace and security in the region.
The importance of restraint by the parties to the conflict, preventing the further expansion of military confrontation, and taking measures to reduce tensions was emphasized.
It was underlined that all disputes should be resolved through political dialogue and diplomatic means, in accordance with the norms and principles of international law.
Issues arising from the alliance relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, the continuation of high-level contacts, and prospects for the development of cooperation across various sectors were also addressed in the telephone conversation.
