No:038/25, Press release on consular consultations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia

The first consular consultations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia were held in the city of Baku.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Emil Safarov, while the Slovak delegation was led by Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Martin Bartoň.
The consultations were also attended by staff members of the relevant departments of the foreign ministries of both sides, an official of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and representatives of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the consultations, the current state and prospects of relations between the two countries in the consular field, as well as opportunities for expanding the bilateral legal and contractual framework in this area, were discussed.
In addition, issues related to expanding cooperation in providing effective and prompt consular assistance for the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of both countries were addressed, and an exchange of views was held on the visa policies of the Slovak Republic and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
A number of proposals were discussed to develop cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Slovak Republic in areas such as migration, labor, social protection and others, and agreement was expressed on taking necessary measures to expand relations in the relevant directions.
