No:003/26, Press Release on the Meeting of Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov with Representatives of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency

On 12 January 2026, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Elnur Mammadov, received a delegation led by Karl Kress, Regional Director for the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and Eurasia of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA).
During the meeting, the current state of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States in energy, trade, regional connectivity including the TRIPP route, and economic investment and opportunities for U.S. private sector representatives to familiarize themselves with relevant infrastructure and logistics capacities in Azerbaijan, as well as prospects for further development of cooperation were discussed.
The bilateral contacts and discussions conducted separately in these areas following the 8 August Washington Peace Summit on the preparation of the Strategic Partnership Charter were highly appreciated.
In addition, the meeting included an exchange of views on Azerbaijan’s important role in regional energy security, the significance of developing renewable energy resources, the diversification of trade routes along the Middle Corridor, as well as the favorable business and investment environment in Azerbaijan and opportunities for establishing new connections.
