On 5 January 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Radosław Sikorski, made a phone call to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland once again conveyed condolences regarding the tragic crash of the passenger aircraft belonging to “Azerbaijan Airlines.” It was stated that the Polish side is ready to provide possible technical support in the investigation of the causes of the tragedy.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed his gratitude for the condolences and the solidarity shown.
Subsequently, priority issues during Poland’s presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU) over the next six months, within this framework, Azerbaijan-EU relations, as well as the future prospects of the Eastern Partnership were discussed in detail.
It was noted that relations between Azerbaijan and Poland in political, economic, alternative energy, humanitarian and other fields have broad prospects, and the importance of intensifying mutual visits and political dialogue in the development of relations was emphasized.
During the telephone conversation, the ministers also exchanged views on regional and international security issues.
