On 11 January 2024, an event and exhibition on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Latvia was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The event was attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, members of the Milli Majlis, and representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as other guests.
The event began with the playing of the national anthems of both countries.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fariz Rzayev conveyed his congratulations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The development of the existing strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Latvia over 30 years in various directions, including political, economic, humanitarian, scientific-technical, cultural and other fields was extensively discussed. It was noted that visits and contacts at the highest and high levels, as well as the second meeting of the Strategic Dialogue held in the city of Baku last year played an important role in expanding cooperation.
Then, the Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Edgars Skuja, who spoke, conveyed his congratulations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations and expressed hope for the further development of relations. The history of relations between Azerbaijan and Latvia was discussed, it was highlighted that the successful development of relations based on historical traditions, mutual friendship and cooperation continues to be a source of satisfaction.
After the speeches, the exchange of congratulatory letters of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Latvia on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries took place.
At the end of the event, the participants became acquainted with the exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Latvia.
