Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Tamar Beruchashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia within his official visit to Georgia

 

Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Tamar Beruchashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia within his official visit to Georgia on February 19-20.

At the meeting the sides expressed satisfaction with the successful development of political, economic, energy, transport, tourism and humanitarian cooperation between two countries. 
 
Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov pointed out that Azerbaijan and Georgia are strategic partners and this cooperation is crucial in terms of strengthening and advancing of independence of both countries.
 
Elmar Mammadyarov noted that the energy and transportation projects, such as Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Tbilisi-Arzurum and Baku-Tbilisi-Kars ensure the  development and prosperity of Azerbaijan and Georgia and the whole region. Elmar Mammadyarov stressed that as a result of policy of occupation and aggression pursued by Armenia, it remained out of the regional projects and can’t benefit from the regional cooperation.
 
Considering the visit important in terms of further development of the relations between two countries Tamar Beruchashvili characterized the relationship between Azerbaijan and Georgia as strategic.
 
Tamar Beruchashvili underlining the particular significance of cooperation binding two countries in implementation of large-scale energy and transport projects added that these projects are important for the development of both countries and the entire region.
 
The Ministers reaffirmed mutual support to territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of internationally recognized borders.
 
After the meeting the ministers held joint press conference.
