Relations between Azerbaijan and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB)

Azerbaijan joined the IsDB in 1992; its share of subscribed capital in the IsDB is 0.1%.

 

IsDB Governor for Azerbaijan is Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy. Alternative Governor is the Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov.  

 

Azerbaijan is part of a group of countries that includes Albania, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, the Kyrgyz Republic and Kazakhstan. The group is headed by the representative of Uzbekistan, B. Alikhanov. Azerbaijan is also a member of the International Trade Finance Corporation and the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector.

 

The IsDB has implemented 21 projects in Azerbaijan for a total of US$ 938.4mm (19 projects were completed and 2 projects are currently underway).

 

On the 8th of December 2016, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector and the Baku International Sea Trade Port.
