No: 519/22 Press Release on the Meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov with the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Azerbaijan

On 17 November 2022, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Azerbaijan Nikolay Yankov, in connection with the conclusion of his diplomatic mission in our country.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for his contribution to the development of relations between the two countries and wished him success in his future endeavors. The Minister noted that the existing high-level political relations between the two countries are also accompanied by dynamic development in the economic field.
Ambassador Nikolay Yankov noted that the cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria are developing successfully in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual trust. In this regard, attention was drawn to the growing contacts between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria in recent times, particularly the significance of the visit of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the city of Sofia within the framework of the opening ceremony of the Greece-Bulgaria Gas Interconnector on 1 October of this year. Ambassador Nikolay Yankov noted that Azerbaijan is a reliable strategic partner for Bulgaria.
The meeting also featured an exchange of views on the prospects for cooperation in a number of areas of bilateral relations, including energy, economy and trade, information technologies, and transport and transit. The positive contribution of high-level exchanges of visits towards further advancing bilateral cooperation was emphasized.
Subsequently, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed the other side on the current post-conflict situation in the region, the restoration and reconstruction works being carried out in the liberated territories, and the steps taken by the Government of Azerbaijan towards peacebuilding.
The meeting also featured an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
