Within the framework of his official visit to Ukraine, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov was received by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
At the meeting, an exchange of views was held on the current state and prospects for the development of the strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, political dialogue, energy, transport, humanitarian cooperation, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The importance of developing the strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, based on friendship and mutual respect, was emphasized. It was noted that the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations will be marked next year, and that high-level political dialogue and mutual visits over the past period have made an important contribution to the development of bilateral cooperation.
It was noted that the visit paid by President Zelenskyy to Azerbaijan in April of this year, and the agreements reached within the framework of the visit, are of significance in terms of elevating bilateral relations to a qualitatively new stage.
At the meeting, an exchange of views was held on regional security issues, the current situation in Ukraine, as well as other topical issues on the international agenda.
Attention was once again drawn to the fact that Azerbaijan consistently supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.
President Zelenskyy expressed his deep gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and the Government of Azerbaijan for the humanitarian support provided to Ukraine.
A shared intention was expressed to further develop relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine and to expand cooperation in various fields going forward.
